2014 Season - Week 24

Trading Day – Is It Pointless?

Last week you saw how you did on a weekly basis but could it have been so different. The analysis is in (and attached). The key gainer was Chief, who would have been relegated without trading and Aaron who both improved their original teams by 100 points. Without Trading Days Aaron would have finished 8th not third. Johnnie would still have been the Champion but Ron would have finished second not fifth. In the Premiership only Cheryl’s trades lost points and so instead of finishing 7th she was relegated along with doomed Daz and Wayne. Despite having the worst Trading Day record (minus 44 points) Andy H won the Conference but he should have been joined by John (who lost 30 points) and Stampy who was the only owner not to trade anyone this year. Instead AP improved by 81 and George by 18 and they return to the Premiership. All-Time Leading Points Scorer There is no change in the top 15 positions in the Official All-Time Leading Points scorer with Chief remaining top and Johnnie second, both have now scored over 10,600 points. On average Chief has scored 543.6pts per season, with Craig moving into second (536.0) past Johnnie who drops to third (534.1). Despite his relegation Wayne remains fourth on 510.7. Johnnie (9675) remains the all-time leading regular season points scorer with Chief (9507) still second but Mark (8814) moved past Andy H (8772) for third. On average Johnnie has 483.8 points per regular season, while Craig (480.3) again moves up one spot to second this time at the expense of Chief (475.4) who falls to third. again passed Wayne (457.5) for third. Wayne remains fourth averaging 449.5 points per regular season and Ron passes Mark Harris to climb to fifth with 444,7 points. Chief remains the highest play-off scorer with 1365 post season points while Daz (1111) moved past Mark (1103) into second, Johnnie became the fourth owner to eclipsed 1,000 post season points total on 1007 but Marcus is only ten points short of that milestone, the sixth highest play-off scorer. See the attached sheet. BUMS 20th Anniversary Attached are two more spreadsheets which officially finish our 20th Anniversary celebrations. The 20th Anni Team shows all the players who received the most nominations from the 15 owners who selected their favourites from our first two decades. Ron’s team most resembled the 20th Anniversary starters as 5 of his 8 players were also selected by other owners and made the team. Two coaches, four kickers and three QBs received two cotes each and so share their positions while RB Jerome Bettis was the most nominated player receiving recognition from a third of all owners. The second spreadsheet shows 17 different owners who have made the 20th Anniversary Roll of Honour by winning either the Papas Fritas Trophy, the BUMSBowl, scoring the most weekly points in a season (note in 1997 nobody made the scoring Hall of Fame) or winning the Conference. Can you find your name?
